The Beighton Score can be used as a screening tool for EDS.
To be diagnosed with EDS, the Brighton Scale is used with major and minor criteria from family history and physical assessment. Echocardiograms are used to identify cardiac involvement. Once positive, genetic testing is helpful to denote type. No genetic test for most common hypermobility type. |
